No, we’re still in the proto-cyberpunk stage. The ingression of Gibson’s prophesy into the present has only begun. The seeds have been planted: urban rot, rampant corporatism, a failed foreign endless war. But the black fruit are yet to be borne.

You do sound bleak :). But I would agree with you here. That’s why I still love Cyberpunk: It really adresses the problems of our world.
